Thank you for reporting these issues to Ubuntu. First, if you could please limit one issue per bug report. You can submit as many reports as necessary.
Are any of the things you are trying to install from the Ubuntu repositories?
Can you post the appropriate sections from /var/log/apt/term.log?

Thank you for your bug report. To maintain a respectful atmosphere, please follow the code of conduct - http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct/ . Bug reports are handled by humans, the majority of whom are volunteers, so please bear this in mind.

What old version of Linux?

We can't fix your problem because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

OK you have Fire Fox already installed in ubuntu 9.04 so this should work but it DOES NOT! Worls in other versions!
Go to:
http://clickspeak.clcworld.net/installation_linux.html

And follow the instructions! When you are done Fire Fox Will look like this!

It installed Click Speak ok but it don’t work!!

Says that it uses “Java FreeTTS” but it can not be installed on ubuntu 9.04
A page for you programmers that may help get this working is here:
http://clc4tts.clcworld.net/

It says:
CLC-4-TTS is a cross OS compatible (Windows, Mac, Linux) collection of JavaScript functions that can be used for transforming Firefox into a self-voicing browser. This software is open source and is licensed under the terms of the GNU GPL.

There are currently two libraries available: CLC-4-TTS and CLC-Utils. CLC-4-TTS (Core Library Components for Text-To-Speech) provides a library of JavaScript functions that allow programmers to pass in a string and have it converted to speech output. CLC-4-TTS uses the Microsoft SAPI 5 TTS engine (Windows platforms only) and the Java based FreeTTS engine (all Java capable platforms with Java 1.5.0),

There is a lot of us retired people out here that need the text read to us for various reasons!
I hate vista! Have Windows 7 black, XP Pro, and ubuntu 9.04 installed now would like to kill all Windows but need the Fire Fox to read webpages!

Ok. In order to help you, I need to know what errors you are seeing during the install process. What do you mean when you say that “Java FreeTTS” cannot be installed on Ubuntu 9.04?
