When adding a new forum topic, forum comment, and quote comment, there is no attached file feature. When editing, there is.

Anthony, I edited the title to make it a little shorter and more accurate.

Yesterday I checked and it was true that you couldn't do attachments on Add Forum Topic. Today you can, so that is working.

Regarding attachments to forum *comments*, KARL2 doesn't allow that. Thus, I'll mark this as "Invalid".

Paul,

Yalan reported this as a bug so I would like to revisit this. In KARL 2, we do not allow attachments to Forums, but we do not allow editing either. In KARL 3, we do not allow attachments to Forums on creation, but they are allowed to be added upon edit of Forum. We need to come up with a solution that is consistent.

Thanks.

Ok, we'll fix the edit screen to match KARL2 by hiding the attachments
field.

Hmm, looking at your paragraph below, I'm a little confused. You are
discussing Add/Edit Forum, but I don't think that's what you mean. I
took a look here:

   http://kdiab.sixfeetup.com/offices/nyc/forums/nyc-news/edit.html

That is the screen for editing a forum (e.g. New York News). It
doesn't mention attachments.

Perhaps you mean a Forum Topic?

Oops, re-opening.

Shane, please make sure that nothing regarding attachments (adding, viewing, editing) appears on Add Forum Topic, View Forum Topic, Edit Forum Topic, Add Forum Comment, View Forum Comment, Edit Forum Comment.

The comment is harder, because it is shared with blog comments, which *do* allow attachments.

I think I goofed. KARL 2 does allow attachments on 'Forum Topics'. We need to allow attachments to 'Forum Topics' on add and edit. Sorry for the mixup. Anthony

Shane, let me know if this is feasible to wrap up today.

Shane, looks like we have to revisit this. I realize we might be out of time, and getting this on the Friday before launch means we might have to skip it for next Thursday.

The gist of it is that we need attachments for add/view/edit forum topics (but not comments).
