Bug Description
When doing certain actions, a permanent copy of a path highlight may get stuck above the canvas. This highlight is detached from the path that created it and will not go away until the document is closed, even File>Reload will not get rid of it.
Steps to reproduce (note, this is one of many ways):
1) Create a path with either the Pencil or Bezier Tool
2) Switch to Node Tool, hover over the path, hit Spacebar (which switches to the selector tool)
3) Move the path
There should be a highlight stuck above any objects on your canvas now. (I just tried with clean builds on 2 machines, and can reproduce at-will)

Yes... it merits medium due to the persistence of the issue, if you could pan away and have it re-render than canvas area it would be fine, but it just doesn't work that way. (the most simple solution is to close the doc and re-open)
