Bug Description
Binary package hint: network-manager
on desktop jaunty, i have first entered one ip address and then change it again to another ip of different subnet.
i still get the first IP i have entered all the time .The second one is not changed though i did /etc/init.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release the Karmic Koala.
