Starting documents from the openoffice 3.0.1 launcher (oofromtemplate) causes application crash

In Jaunty, Openoffice 3.0.1: When launching oofromtemplate and selecting a document to create (any document, e.g., text document, presentation, etc.), Openoffice crashes. See attached image.

Do you have System->Preferences->Assistive Technologies enabled, if so does disabling it (if you can) help resolve the problem?

Disabling Assistive Technologies did not resolve the problem.

Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ?

I downgraded back to Intrepid (Jaunty was not functional for me; too many bugs)
and installed OOo 3.0 from http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ppa/ubuntu
intrepid main. I do not have the OOo launcher there, thus no problems to
report.
