Thin Client Manager shows nothing

Thin Client Manager shows nothing in 9.04, there's neither a connected client nor a logged on user shown in the sidebar of the application. Despite that the machine is running and a user logged in.

With 8.10 it's working flawlessly under the same conditions, something must have changed due to update in Jaunty. (9.04)

If you want a quick and dirty solution:
Find the file ltcm.py on your system (should be in /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/studentcontrolpanel/ or similiar) and replace the line that starts with '-' in the patch with the one that starts with '+'.

A better solution would be to create a Debian package that includes the patch and install that locally. If I find the time to, i may create a .deb and upload it here, but I cannot promise that at the moment.

FWIW, a couple of people and I are sort of taking the initiative to re-write and build upon TCM (cleaning up, modularizing, making sure everything is stable, then later adding features). We're building on LTS release stability but I'm sure it would be trivial (though IANAP myself, maybe it's a bad assumption?) for someone to "front-port" it to later releases..just thought I'd put that out there.

In order for this, it needs to follow the procedure documented at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess. Primarily, these needs to be converted to a debdiff (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide/Recipes/Debdiff).

No, it's still not fixed. I don't have the time/motivation to go through the
Ubuntu bureaucracy at the moment, sorry. I think someone has to test it on
current releases, and then follow
