Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-themes-ubuntu

In the Dust Sand theme, the text overlaps with the icon in the window title bar. It's easy to understand what I mean if you look at the attached screenshot.

I think I have a pretty normal jaunty install and I'm using the human icon set in that screenshot. So I think it's a theme bug.

I just realized that the aurora dust theme on

Since it's fixed in bzr, will it also make it's way into the karmic repos? It's not in there yet. Sorry for the bump, I just wanted to make sure it's released before final karmic.

Sorry to bump you again but shouldn't we put this fix into the newest package of gnome-themes-ubuntu? It's still not there in my karmic install.

I just installed and updated karmic amd64 and this issue is still present. This is referring to the window border for the Dust Sand theme and no other. I had to download the latest version (Dust-extras-0.4.tar.gz) from https://code.launchpad.net/dusttheme/+download to get it to work properly. This should definitely be included in the updates.

I'll set this to "Fix committed" in gnome-themes-ubuntu, so all they have to do is merge it for lucid.

For anyone using the older version you can copy Dust Sand from /usr/share/themes to your .themes folder and change lines 245, 248, 251, 254 and 257 to:

<icon x="(width-mini_icon_width)/2" y="(height-mini_icon_height)/2" width="mini_icon_width" height="mini_icon_height"/>

for inactive or prelight conditions use an alpha setting

<icon x="(width-mini_icon_width)/2" y="(height-mini_icon_height)/2" width="mini_icon_width" height="mini_icon_height" alpha="0.75" />

this should clean up your Dust Sand problem. :)

I know this is fixed but being in lucid now with the metacity buttons move to the left, maybe we should add even more space between buttons and text? Or should I file a new bug?

See attached screenshot.

I guess the newly occurring problems due to the buttons on the left are discussed here: bug 532633
