Bug Description
Ubuntu 9.04 seems to lock up unexpectedly without giving any sort of message about the cause in any log files. The only course of action when this happens is to shut the power off to the computer and then restart it. I first encountered this problem with Ubuntu 8.10 and it appears it has continued on to 9.04.
My system is a Compaq Presario SR2010NX with 2 gigs of memory. I'm using the built in GeForce 6150 LE graphics but it also happens when I use my older GeForce FX 5200 card. No WIFI.
Upon searching the forums I found a thread which seems to be related to this issue that I'm experiencing.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu development version (10.10). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
