konsole doesn't update (refresh) properly

Bug #368182 reported by Krister Swenson

Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
kdebase (Ubuntu)
Incomplete
Undecided

Bug Description

Binary package hint: konsole

I'm running 9.04 but this was happening in 8.10 as well:
(I'm also running compiz and GNOME)

1- open konsole (v 2.2.2 from KDE 4.2.2)
2- open a file with vim.
3- edit the file (scroll, add lines)
4- eventually see that the screen doesn't update.

This will occasionally happen in the shell as well.

This is serious as it renders the konsole unusable!

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue. In order to help you better, please provide more information.

I am unable to duplicate this behavior in the most recent and updated Kubuntu version and Konsole package. Please attach a screenshot that illustrates this behavior. Also, please post the version of your Konsole package, this can be obtained by typing "dpkg -s konsole" and then copying the "Version:" field.

Changed in kdebase (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

Well, I'm not using Kubuntu. I'm using the normal ubuntu in the gnome
environment...
I'll post the other info and the screenshot when I get home tonight.
