OfficeJet 5500 Series ADF does not eject sheet on sane_cancel

Bug Description

I'm the developer of gscan2pdf (http://gscan2pdf.sourceforge.net/), using an OfficeJet 5500 Series.

When scanning from the ADF, all pages are fed, scanned, and ejected properly except the last one. After the scanner returns SANE_STATUS_NO_DOCS, the final sheet is not ejected on calling sane_cancel, and is only ejected on calling sane_close, which loses, of course, all the options that have been set.

This is an old all-in-one, 2003 vintage. The ADF has hardware issues. Flatbed scanning works ok. On our OJ5500 any ADF job causes a firmware error and the unit hangs. A power cycle is required to recover.

Since newer inkjets based on this platform do not have the ADF problem we have no plans to look into any work around or fix.

If you determine a potential patch and it is not model specific I will be glad to look at it.

To be exact, it is a 5510. Does that make a difference?

What models do you still support?

OK. Well according to that you offer full support for the OfficeJet 5510.
