root terminal doesn't launch (ubuntu jaunty 32 bits)

Bug Description

root terminal is asking for password and does not launch, gnome-terminal works fine...
all this in ubuntu 9.04 since upgrade
so, nothing happens

Thanks Andreas,

The bug has been squashed - I'm testing out Kbuntu right now - the
only problem (and a known bug) is that wifi doesn't connect to hidden
network.
