Bug Description

In my desktop (Gnome), Jakarta is showing WIT (Indonesia Central Time) instead of WIB (Indonesia West Time.) Sorry, I have no idea what the package name is.

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone.html?n=108 says "WIT". Perhaps that's wrong as well? Do you have a reference (URL) to an official document stating Jakarta's time zone?

Would you mind sending that to <email address hidden> as well (CC'ing <email address hidden>) to discuss this upstream? Thank you!

The official website is currently down, however this url still accessible
from google cache:
http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:JBpW5TryxxAJ:www.bmg.go.id/dataDetail.bmg%3FJenis%3DTeks%26IDS%3D7452470612766189439%26IDD%3D5015031020779933765+waktu+indonesia+bagian+barat+site:*.go.id&cd=5&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=id&client=firefox-a

but the real url is:
http://www.bmg.go.id/dataDetail.bmg?Jenis=Teks&IDS=7452470612766189439&IDD=5015031020779933765

The document states that GMT +7 (jakarta time) is Waktu Indonesia Barat
(WIB), GMT +8 is Waktu Indonesia Tengah (WITA), and GMT +9 is Waktu
Indonesia Timur (WIT) Thank you for your attention.

Hello tzdata developers,

https://launchpad.net/bugs/365215 reported that tzdata currently puts
Jakarta into WIT (Indonesia Central Time), but it actually belongs
into WIB (Indonesia West Time).

It seems that
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone.html?n=108 also gets
this wrong (perhaps it's using tzdata?)

The official website is currently down, however this url still accessible

The document states that GMT +7 (jakarta time) is Waktu Indonesia Barat
(WIB), GMT +8 is Waktu Indonesia Tengah (WITA), and GMT +9 is Waktu

Thank you!

Forwarded upstream, discussing there. Once it gets fixed there, I'll apply the fix to all stable releases (as usual for tzdata updates).

I discussed this with users of Ubuntu from Indonesia. They said that WIT stands for Western Indonesian Time (or in Indonesia : Waktu Indonesia Barat -- WIB.) Where WIT in Indonesians stands for Waktu Indonesia Timur (Eastern Indonesia Time) which confuse me. So I was wrong and apologize for the confusion.
