Bug Description

I see a clear use case for that right now, tracking down what I have said in #gnome-zeitgeist, in order to file bugs.

The plugin should work like this:
- I can look for things I have said, as the default view
- I can look for things others have said, I just need to type in the name of the user. The plugin should suggest other names that most likely is the same user: like [username]1, [username]_lunch, [username]_lurk, etc.
- I can turn logging for specific accounts, buddy conversations or chatrooms. Ideally, I'm given a list to check which I want to have logged

Just to clarify: try to tap in to the Pidgin log directly.
Duplicating the logs:
- add to local storage
- makes it more difficult for people to clear their logs in order to keep things private

agree with previous comment on privacy, on other hand turning this on should be optional with the obvious consequences, last but not least I could imagine some people just wanting to know who they talked to but not what

Yeah, duplicating the log won't happen, only pointing to existing logs in case those are available.

That is how the telepathy plugin works. The information logged in
zeitgeist lets us query telepathy for the logs.
I don't know if pidgin has this capability.
