Brian: could you explain why the bug is medibuntu related? There is no reference to our skype package in the log file (only a reference to tasksel and its reverse dependencies, which are ubuntu packages), and the package "skype-debian_2.0.0.72-1_i386.deb" doesn't come from Medibuntu, obviously.

Well, I am not trying to argue with you, but if Skype can not be installed, than it is a Skype issue.

Not really sure why this was reopened, since it's not an Ubuntu package. Any issues with skype should be taken up with its developers.
