Bug Description

Binary package hint: kate

1. K/Ubuntu 9.04 (I have both, I had kubuntu-experimental before this*)
2. Kate 3.2.2
3. Not to crash. :))
4. Crashed.
In Kate:
File>Quit ... Crash.
"The application Kate (kate) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)."
"Unable to crate a valid backtrace."

*I had Ubuntu 8.10 (Gnome). I have added kubuntu-experimental.
2 days ago:
Removed kubuntu-experimental. Removed some repositories (not official repositories)
Upgrade to 9.04. Installed kubuntu-desktop.

I have more problems (read> applications are crashing) with 9.04 beta/rc than with kubntu-experimental (yes, some apps were crashing, but now it happens more).

I am not sure, should I report all or wait? I don't know, maybe it's because it's an upgrade and not clean install?

summary: - kate crshes on quit
+ kate crashes on quit

Could you please install kdesdk-dbg and crash it again? If you install that package the backtrace should be valid.

There is enough of the backtrace visible in the crash window for me to diagnose this bug, however. :)
This is a duplicate of bug 339131, which seems to affect various Qt applications that can be triggered by activating menu actions.
