Bug Description

c: has winXP e: has ubuntu 8.10
after ubuntu install, ran update manager (219 updates). Pretty soon it told me there was a crash, which I did not write down. Subsequent attempts to run update manager work, until there is just one update left - it always fails like this:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic_2.6.27-7.16_i386.deb: unable to make backup link of `./boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic' before installing new version

Ok look, I GET IT.. its a dublicate.. i have been getting multi reports per week for weeks now since i posted that request.. now you all log in.. and tell me one at a time.. this is a duplicate. I am a newbe.. some one please delete this damn post and stop LOGING IN TO TELL ME HOW YOU WONT HELP ME.
OH and BTW.. i am not using that version of linux now.. so I DONT CARE. LOG ME OFF PLEASE>
