Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Hi. New to this. Don't see anything else listed like this. Not even sure if this is an Ubuntu problem, or an NVidia problem.

Running 64 bit 8.10 on a Dell D830 laptop w/Quadro NVS 140M, using restricted drivers.
Using the Nvidia Xserver settings app.
NOT running Xinerama. Compiz installed, but no effects turned on.

Single screen (laptop screen) works OK using v180 driver.
Twinview (laptop screen and external screen via docking station) does NOT work using v180 driver. I can display one screen or the other, but I cannot turn on both together. Screen sizes indicate a full twinview screen (double width), and the working screen may scroll across to show the whole space, but the second monitor does not turn on.

If I delete xorg.conf, both screens will turn on and mirror each other, but as soon as I try twinview, one or the other will turn off (depending on the last screen enabled).

If I roll the driver back to v177, everything works as it did when I first set it up.
This is what I am currently running.

I can certainly survive using 177 (not sure what 180 brings to the party). Just thought I should mention it to someone...

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you on this, I've been out of the country quite a bit.
I have upgraded Ubuntu to 9.04 (jaunty).
I have installed all the nvidia 180 packages.
Everything seems to work.

Thanks!
