It really seems to be a duplicate execp for one thing, the applet on the panel doesn't work on my jaunty installation. CAn yo tell me if there's something in /proc/acpi/video for working and non working instalation?

I'm new to Linux. Last programmed IBM 7070 & 1401/2 using autocoder and
machine language in 1975! I'm
attaching contents of /acpi enabling read/write permissions. Hope this
helps.

Bug description:
1. Anomalous short light flashing for the screen after remove the mouse for a period of time and when start moving the mouse.

2. Anomalous not short light flashing when try to adjust the brightness from the "Power Manager Brightness Applet".
See the clip and notice that the pointer was stoping while the brightness wasn't adjusting yet.

Laptop: Lenovo 3000 N100 and I installed new fresh Ubuntu 9.04 at 26/4/2009. and up-to-date.

I also have lenovo 3000 N100(Model no. 0768-FPG) and experiencing this issue. This is especially annoying since the old bug about screen brightness that sets to minimum when certain qt apps are running(VLC, VBox, Avidemux, etc.).
I've my /usr/share/gnome-power-manager/gnome-power-bugreport output here.

will be happy to provide any additional information
