could somebody who was having the issue confirm that the update is working so it can be moved to official updates?

The proposed version of gnome-settings-daemon is just one part on fixing this bug, it also depends on a change to gnome-control-center as stated by Federico on upstream bug (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=576006#c3) the other part of the fix is at http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gnome-control-center/commit/?id=6ea3c02290362ae3e9b4e9259bc72fc0b4ac45d2 ; but the update doesn't broke anything though and it's working just as before, no regressions or new issues. Marking this as verification-done so it could go trough the updates and the team could fully fixed it later with the inclusion of the gnome-control-center change. Thanks.

This is still an issue in current Karmic with gnome-control-center 2.26.0-1ubuntu5. When will 2.26.1 be accepted into karmic ?
