Bug Description

Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet

This window should not be minimisable, since it contains a destructive countdown and requires the user to either acknowledge it or act immediately to prevent it.

gdk_window_set_decorations could probably help for this case

Confirmed, the dialog has that. However, this is an issue with the way the window manager presents the window.
There was an old Motif hint for suppressing the minimize button, but I doubt it is still honored. Most window managers consider that the user should be able to minimize a window, unless it is a modal window.

In this case, the window should not be modal, ie the user should be able to interact with the rest of the windows

However, pitti recently made a transient gnome-mount progress window that had similar requirements.

Ted: could you take a look at the way pitti implemented the gnome-mount transient window?

Breaks string freeze... hope you'll be able to square that away with translators.

Also, it seems to be making some whitespace changes to changelog entries earlier than this change. No substantial changes, so letting it through this time since time is tight.

Otherwise, looks good, upload sponsored.

---------------
fast-user-switch-applet (2.24.0-0ubuntu11) jaunty; urgency=low

  * 84_session_management.patch
    * Changing GUI string to make shorter to make dialog a better
      size.
    * Making the logout dialogs not have a minimize button on their
      title bars so you can't lose them. (LP: #356132)
