I do encounter this bug as well. Is it going to be resolved? What is happening next? Is there anything I can do about it?

I think i solved it by adding "resume=/dev/sda6" in the end of the kernel line in the grub menu...

But i don't know if it solved it completely or just partly, so i'm not changing the bug status for now.

Adding a resume=dev/sdxN to the kernel line in the grub menu does not solve the problem for me. And I wonder how it should. This bugreport is about Suspend to Ram (STR), is it not? The resume line however is intended for Suspend to Disk (STD, Hibernation).

Oops. Looks like i mixed 2 different bugs.
Still unfixed here.

I am trying to give a more detailled description of this bug. The laptop goes into Suspend to Ram (STR)-mode without a problem as the attached log tells. However, after pressing the power button to make the laptop resume, the screen stays blank and the laptop powers down after a few seconds. Afterwards you have to hold the powerbutton down (the laptop powers up) until the laptop turns off again. Otherwise the laptop will not boot and the screen stays blank. After the laptop is switched off, another short press of the power button makes the system boot as usual.

I just want to add that with Windows Vista Resume works just fine. So the hardware is not broken.

I am going to attach pm-suspend.log to show that suspend is not the problem.

I can confirm this bug, exactly the same as reported by O.S.

Can someone address it? I'm using Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 LTS x86 32 bits.

Thank you.

This bug still exists in Jaunty. If you want to adress it and need someone who has the particular hardware, I am willing to help.

I can also confirm this bug, using Debian with kernel 2.6.29.4.

Exactly the same problem: my vr201 power-off after resume from suspend to RAM.

It seem's that other notebook's like MSI pr200 and some System76 have the same problem.

Thanks.

Still has this bug since release, system is upgraded weekly.
Same problem - "vr201 power-off after resume from suspend to RAM"

Current kernel 2.6.28-11, using 64 bit version.

needless to say that I have the same problem on my msiVr201 on mint8 x86 with 2.6.31.14 and other ubuntu distros.
Is there anyone who ok with suspend&wakeup with another distro on msi201 ? (Is this a debian problem only?)

The same problem with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Kernel 2.6.32-22

Could it be the same problem in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/329645 ?

I've tested SuSe 11.3 and Fedora 13, same issues.
I've got a MSI PR200 Centrino Duo (Daru2), but it seems that the working
version was 7.04 or 7.10 I don't remember.
It's really shame because there's an ubuntu certified laptop and the
upcoming version doesn't work properly.
In ubuntu 10.04 I lost webcam support too.
