Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

After performing an update in ubuntu (Intrepid) and install the NetBeans package, available in the ubuntu repositories, the letters of the menu bar of OpenOffice.org were hidden.

If possible, I await a reply from help on this problem.

Yep, unfortunately you bought a nvidia card which uses buggy binary only non-free drivers which are the source of this problem.

I'm not so sure about that Chris, I am running 8.10 with non-free drivers without issue.

Bug 294076. Issue already reported. Several times.

Basically, unless you make a couple simple changes to xorg.conf, if you try to run compiz with nvidia drivers (especially the 96 series), OO.o loses its menu text.

Marking as another of many duplicates for 294076.

 After disabling the drives for my video card, the menu bar back to normal.
