Installation of virtualbox additions. The xorg driver was not able to initialize.

I'm pretty sure this is the virtualbox driver bug.

How did you install the additions? Via virtualbox, or a package in the guest OS?

You can also try this guide: http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2009/03/18/installing-guest-additions-on-ubuntu-904-jaunty-workaround/ on installing them. Let me know if it doesn't help out.

Personnally, i installed the guestadditions from the virtualbox package.

i applied the steps mentioned in the page (visited via the link) but it's worst : the xorg server didn't start anytime.

here is a screenshot with the error message

I solved the problem :

on a fresh installed VM i reproduced the steps mentioned in the guide (link provided by vadim) and this time it worked.
i guess that i missed up something the last time.

I install the additions with the package in the guest OS. I found an astuce
on Web which edits the install file to correct the version of the driver
there xorg supported.
