Bug Description
Binary package hint: debian-installer
Dear colleagues,
Just tried to install intrepid server flavour via netboot and cd.
Installation works, but after reboot it stops at
"Booting from C:" (which comes from HP bios and now it tries to find a bootloader)
After playing around with the installation (booting into a rescue system from cd), I checked the /boot/grub/menu.lst
everything is fine.
After installing grub via grub install manually and after doing a new installation I can find this in the /var/log/
[ Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For
the first word, TAB lists possible command
grub> device (hd0,) /dev/cciss/c0d0
Error 12: Invalid device requested
grub> device (hd0)
Error 15: File not found
grub> root (hd0,)
Error 12: Invalid device requested
grub> setup (hd0)
Error 12: Invalid device requested
For you convinience, i'll attach the complete log files from /var/log/installer:
regards,
\sh
This bug was fixed in the package grub-installer - 1.36ubuntu4
---------------
grub-installer (1.36ubuntu4) jaunty; urgency=low
* cciss and ida logical drive numbers may go up to 15, not just 9.
* Only check for the boot partition being on dmraid if the user allowed us
to activate dmraid, to cope with cases where dmraid is misdetected
(LP: #346001).
