Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Ubuntu 8.10; Ubuntu Jaunty
1. Open "System" > "Preferences" > "Power Management" > "General".
The "When the power button is pressed:" menu was added (bug 49214) to let you choose between prompted or immediate action when pressing the power button.
However, it's not as obvious as it could be that shutdown is immediate. This could be fixed by changing "Shutdown" in the menu to "Shut down immediately".
(Not to be confused with bug 311693, which is about session management when shutting down.)
