Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

If I am on a web page in Firefox and select a field to type in, sometimes the cursor will change to show that it is busy "thinking" for a second and then the field I am typing in is no longer active. I have to go back to my mouse, click on the field and place my cursor at the end to continue typing.

This happens mostly in Gmail because that is where I do most of my typing on the web. It also happens on other sites including this post about 4 times.

I have not had the problem until a few days ago I think.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64

 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: firefox-3.0
Uname: Linux 2.6.27-11-generic x86_64

we need a step by step instrcutions on how to reproduce this reliably; preferably with a website that doesnt need a login.

Anyway, I think its an extension as you have a bunch installed. Disable them or uninstall them to get a cure. I you still get it even though everything is disabled, reopen this bug. Thanks!

Changed in firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

I don't follow. Uninstall what?
I don't have an example website that does not require a login.

Turns out it was speed-dial refresh set to 1 minute for a couple of the
windows. Changed it back to 1 day and everything works like a champ.

Nice call.
