Bug Description

On Sunday March 5th, a regular Dapper update removed ubuntu-desktop; since then I have been unable to reinstall due to an unmet dependency in openoffice.org-core.

Two logs follow: Current output from apt-get install ubuntu-desktop and the Synaptic commit log from Sunday March 5th. More text follows beneath the March 5th commit log.

One: Conflict error

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
  openoffice.org-l10n-en-gb: Conflicts: openoffice.org-core (< 2.0.2) but 2.0.1oob680m5-0ubuntu2 is to be installed

The i10n packages were then upgraded on March 11th.

In an attempt to fix this, I also removed openoffice.org-debian-files on March 11th.

I'm tempted to remove the i10n packages and reinstall ubuntu-desktop, but I'd like to know that I would be doing the right thing....

This conflict prevents the installation of ubuntu-desktop; removing the conflicting i10n packages is at best a short-term workaround.
