Bug Description

When you close the KTorrent or Amarok window, the application itself is not closed, but instead minimized to its system tray/notification area icon, and can be restored by clicking on that icon.

However, if the window was maximized before, the window is not maximized anymore after restoring from tray, but has the size it had before it was maximized. The expected behavior would be that the window is maximized again after reopening.

A workaround is to pseudo-maximize the window by resizing it to fill the whole screen, but this exposes metacity bug #217941

Tested using Ubuntu 8.10 with Gnome/metacity.

I'm not sure who causes this bug (metacity, some KDE library or the individual applications)

This is definitely solved in Amarok 2.2.2, to be released soon.
