I was maybe not clear with this comment,
While playing a avi file and using the mouse to scroll forwards and backwards and sometimes when i double click on the movie to maximize the video, it either crashes totem or a black screen appears and a hard reboot is needed, this happens with desktop effects on or off, but everything plays fine with elisa media player, hope this makes sense, attached is my Xorg.0.log file's

Confirmed, Totem Movie Player 2.26.1, (GStreamer 0.10.22). When crash, it looks like I'm logging out from X Window, but there's no Login prompt, instead it's a blank black screen without anything, so my only way is to hard reboot.

I think I got something that might help. When in full screen, though the movie plays. When I move my mouse, the movie become slow, and when I click "Leave Fullscreen", sometimes the bug happen, sometimes not. Also, when I say it looks like logging out from X Window, that's because I can see message such as Stopping service (forgot the name)

smkururu which video driver and card do you have? seems to be a xorg/driver issue rather than a totem one.
