Bug Description

Dapper flight 4, with latest updates as of 10th March 2006.
/dev/fd0 is not being created, so the floppy disk cannot be accessed. This appears to be similar to bug 26924 on Breezy, which stated it should be fixed in Dapper flight 4.

Comments attached to the above bug requested the output of "ls /sys/bus/pnp/devices". This directory is empty.

I am also experiencing bug 27926 (multiple entries in fstab) - so I have multiple floppy disk icons, but none of them work.

Re: raising this bug report - should I have raised a new bug here? I'm still finding Launchpad/Malone somewhat confusing. I attempted to raise it specifically against Dapper as I thought bug 26924 was against Breezy, but even though I went to the "Dapper" section by clicking on "Dapper" in the "Release bugs" section of the page I see that it's just ended up under ubuntu/udev.

Are there guidelines somewhere on the structure of the bug reporting system and how to raise a bug against a specific release?
