Mixxx in Jaunty does not support JACK

Binary package hint: mixxx

Mixxx in Jaunty does not support JACK audio API: it is even not selectable in the preferences.

And mixxx is probably not even linked with JACK, which can be verified by ldd'ing the binary:
$ ldd mixxx |grep jack
$ ldd mixxx |grep asound
 libasound.so.2 => /usr/lib/libasound.so.2 (0xb7146000)

Could a rebuild solve this problem?

Yeah... you folks have to rebuild this or explain why it was built without jack support.

seems to me that i have the same problem.
I also can not find any compile-flag to set to enable jackd-support.

I was using mixxx in combination with JACK and hydrogen and some other stuff.. since JACK is not supported for jaunty the whole setup is broken.

I think, JACK is a really common and essential part of advanced linux audio usage..
Is it possible to tell why JACK is not supported anymore?

As well, Mixxx 1.7 seems to have a bug where changing the sound preferences making Mixxx hang.

Manually change ~/.mixxx/mixxx.cfg section [Soundcard] to:

[Soundcard]
SoundApi JACK Audio Connection Kit
DeviceMaster 7, system
DeviceMasterLeft 7, system
DeviceMasterRight 7, system
ChannelMaster 0
ChannelHeadphones 2
DeviceHeadphones 7, system

Now finally it works over here in karmic with JACK...

Hi Motin,

Can you please provide us with a backtrace for this separate bug, and
file a separate bug report? I believe it's a problem in your newer
version of PortAudio that's not present in versions before the one in
Intrepid. A backtrace will help us figure out if somehing's broke in
Mixxx or not...
