This bug was fixed in the package compizconfig-python - 0.7.8-0ubuntu2

---------------
compizconfig-python (0.7.8-0ubuntu2) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Rebuild for python2.6 (LP: #335728).
  * debian/control:
     - Bump Standards-Version to 3.8.0.
  * Adjust debian/rules to attempt to remove static libraries from anywhere,
    but to not bail out if they can't be removed.
