kolourpaint crashes when selecting most of the painting tools

Kolourpaint4 in jaunty crashes when one of the paint tools (eg Elipse) is selected. After that, kolourpaint crashes at startup untill kolourpaintrc is removed from config directory.
Version: kolourpaint4 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu2
Platform: amd64
At this moment I can't provide a useful backtrace due to missing debug symbols.

I can also confirm this bug and with -graphicssystem raster option I wasn't
able to see any more crashed.

This should be "fixed" in KDE 4.2.2 as long as you open kolourpaint through the menu. We added the -graphicssystem raster flag to the execution path of the .desktop file.

Otherwise you can use kolourpaint with the -graphicssystem raster flag from the command line. Let's keep this but open, but bump down the importance a bit.

Oh, actually there's a better patch that we could use that would stop the crash from both the command line and menu. (http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/kdegraphics/devel/kdegraphics-4.2.2-kolourpaint-kde%23183850-workaround.patch?revision=1.1&view=markup)

I'll make sure this gets in before final freeze.

The Qt part of this bug will be fixed when Qt 4.5.1 is released, so setting fix committed.

The fix for Qt has been released to Kubuntu 9.10.
