I run into this problem as well, only on the second suspend after booting
Boot->Suspend-
Suspend worked correctly on Feisty, and if I remember correctly (But I'm not too sure) Hardy before switching to Intrepid alphas, where it broke.
Ubuntu 2.6.28-
Will try suspend from VT1 for each of the 2 suspends required to duplicate.
Zack Cornelius (zcornelius) wrote : | #4 |
This bug is reproducible when suspending from VT1 for both suspends. the second resume powers on the system, but provides no indication whatsoever to resume progress (No hard drive read, no graphics, no wireless activity/turn on)

It has been about a year since this was last updated. Is this still an issue? If so, please work through the troubleshooting steps at https:/

I still have this problem on a Compaq C777 laptop running AMD64 Ubuntu.
When I have an hour free, I'll gather more information.

This is a different laptop model and with HP laptops in particular, model numbers seem to be irrelevant of the hardware, therefore can you file a bug report for that if you haven't done so already. Thank you :)

Did you recently have a suspend failure, this could have been some time before the report was triggered and offered to you. If you did, did the machine break while going to sleep, or while coming back from sleep? Is this reproducible say over 10 cycles. Has suspend ever worked in the past, if so which kernel release (cat /proc/version_ signature) ? Please include any information as to the circumstances leading up to this failure, for example did your battery run out? Did the machine lock up, did any messages come out? If it is reproducible could you try the suspend from VT1, press ctrl-alt-F1, login, and run pm-suspend there. If you could test and report back here that would be helpful.
