Bug Description

From <https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/194214/comments/123> but it may be a different bug:

On my X61s running jaunty, keys seem to get stuck down and repeat. Not all the time, but every few minutes. It's pretty annoying.

If I disable auto-repeat in the keyboard properties then the machine is at least usable but I still sometimes have trouble with modifier keys getting stuck down.

Pressing the key again usually makes it register as being released.

Hi mbp,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.

I've reenabled autorepeat and haven't seen this problem again recently, so I think it was fixed by a change in Ubuntu Jaunty between about 2009-02-20 and 2009-03-20. If it recurs I'll reopen this and attach the logs.

This is happening again today (on Jaunty). It seems to come and go; maybe there's something in the machine state (related to suspend??) that causes it to happen.
