Installation of a fresh Jaunty Alpha 5 was OK, with both NVidia and wireless drivers working.

Yes this report concerns the fact that the boot Menu.lst could not be
updated but I still not have found the reason.

It looks like this is a duplicate of bug 331675, at least they share similar errors:

run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/postinst.d/nvidia-common

  File "/usr/bin/nvidia-detector", line 2, in <module>
    import NvidiaDetector

OSError: [Errno 17] File exists: '/var/crash/_usr_bin_nvidia-detector.0.crash'

I'll go ahead and mark this report as a duplicate of that bug. Thanks.
