Bug Description

I've tried to install Ubuntu 8.10 (and Kiwi 8.12, Ubuntu with Hungarian language pack) but the install stops at a point, and sais :
"The following file did not match its source copy on the CD/DVD..."
It always prompts with a different file.
Checked iso files several times, CRC mathes.
2 Memtest several times, no problem.
xp installes without any problem.
On VirtualBox its the same(!)
Even if i create a zip in Live mode, it is CRC faulty.
Tried to copy a 700megs iso in ws from folder to folder 2 times to check if the HDD or the cable is faulty, but the crc was good.

Dont know how to proceed.

Specs:
Motherboard: asus m2n-x nforce 520
Processor:AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ processors (2 cpu cores)
1gig ram

Thank You!

This bug has some similarity to bug #152737. Can anyone confirm if its a dup? thanks

It is not the same. Here the partitioning is done, and when the installer copies files than it starts to make errors. Trying to make an attempt with gksudo ubiquity --debug.

Have you tried burning another cd? Make sure you check md5sum.

Tried it with 2 cd-s, several iso-s, checked md5sum several times, nothing. It seems fine. I check it more, but i dont think its a faulty iso/cd problem.
Tried Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop, 8.10 alternate, Kiwi 8.12, on hardware, in Virtualbox nothing. It still get those error messages that the files are corrupted. Fedora is working. Totally.

Please do not mark bugs as confirmed unless you can verify that they exist. It does not bring the bugs to our attention any more and potentially mislabels bugs. Thanks!

Horváth, when you say "Even if i create a zip in Live mode, it is CRC faulty." Are you saying that creating a zip file, taking the md5sum of that file, copying it, then taking the md5sum of the new file produces two distinct md5sums?

Evan, sorry for that. Since there the installation logs where attached I followed https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToTriage#Confirming and thought it would be correct to confirm the bug.

The wiki says "Are there sufficient log files and crash dumps, as outlined in DebuggingProcedures?". Sorry once again.
