Bug Description

The 20090215 daily live CD for PowerPc dumps me into a busybox shell early in the boot process. Typing "exit" at the shell prompt just gives me a new prompt. The computer is a G3 slot-loading iMac.

When you get dropped to the busybox shell? Do you get any useful error messages?information at the top of the screen? If not, please boot the live CD, and at the yaboot prompt, type "live nosplash" and let me know if you see any useful info/errors.

Thanks.

Ok, working on a fix, as I have confirmed this myself on my own hardware.

I don't know if it is related. The alternate CD stops at the partitioning step because it cannot find the driver for the IDE harddisk. It finds the IDE cdrom drive though.

Its not related, but the problem is somewhat similar. Thanks for the heads up, will have a fix for both in the next upload of the kernel, hopefully in the next day or so.

The only reason why its not fixed yet on the live CDs is that the live CD filesystem that you boot into hasn't been updated in several days. I'm looking into it.
