Firefox cannot open PHP pages

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When I try to open PHP pages, the firefox asks me if I want to download the page. Or, when I'm opening pages with a PHP code, the firefox doesn't show the result. Please, help me! What can I do?

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

it's funny since firefox is also asking me to download php files.... but only if click on them directly from www folder, otherwise no problem with browsing php based pages.

Maybe Janine figured that out and that's why she's no longer complaining!

Firefox doesn't know what to do with plain text files with a .php extension. When you go to a website with a .php extension, the webserver returns a text/html or similar type file that firefox knows how to render. If you navigate to the www directory and try to open a .php file, Firefox will not know what to do with it. This is standard behavior.
