Bug Description

Binary package hint: bugzilla

I have two PSone pads that i connect to the computer with 2 usb adaptators (same adaptators).
Before intrepid it was working but now, with intrepid, the first pad is detected and work well when i connect it,
but when i connect the second, it don't work.
"sudo cat /dev/input/js0" give me some caracters when i tip on the first pad
"sudo cat /dev/input/js1" give me nothing when i tip on the second pad

The second pad act as the mouse when i tip on the arrows whereas the first don't.

Some people have to add this to their xorg.conf to fix the problem, i don't know if it's the good solution.

Section "ServerFlags"
Option "AutoAddDevices" "False"
EndSection

Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10

I think a pad haven't to act as a mouse, cause here i can't usemy pad as a pad.

I'm ready to test if necessary :)
Thanks.

Hi,
i've just connected my two pads on Lucid, one is reconized as /dev/input/js0 and the other i don't know.... but i have mouse0 and mouse1 in /dev/input.

So the second pad isn't reconized as a jsX device (i think i should have js0 and js1 in /dev/input) but the pad doesn't control the mouse anymore :

Before, when i used the second pad, it was moving the mouse on the screen, now it doesn't.

I tried to test with a game but a any emulator works anymore...

Bye

Thanks for the update, dreadyman. Please let us know whenever you can demonstrate that both pads are working properly. Until then this bug will remain Incomplete.

To demonstrate the two pad works correctly you can launch a 2 player
game, i tried to run some old PSone fight game throw an emulator but i
didn't succeed : ePSXe depends on an old gtk library that is no longer
supported
  and others don't work.

The best emulator appears to be PSX if you want to try it.

Well that is the problem with closed-source programs.

Anyway, I got PCSX working on my machine (except for the sound), but I can't actually test your bug because I don't have any controllers. Could you see if you can get PCSX working with your two joysticks?
