Bug Description

I know skype is not in the official repo, but still it is one of the most widely used package in Ubuntu I believe

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty alpha 3 with kernel version 2.6.28-5.5 and I am unable to use skype 2.0.0.72 audio; other multimedia softwares work without a problem though.

Skype gives an error 'Problem with audio'. I tried changing the audio device settings of both Ubuntu and Skype, but none seems to make it work. I think it has got something to do with the new audio management system in 9.04.

Hope u fix it before final release..........

Thanx

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. As you said you are using a software package that is not provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. Please report this bug to the provider of the software package.

Sound problems with skype and pulse audio are common. You can check the documentation on the link bellow that provides some information on how to solve some problems with audio and skype.

The bug was an Ubuntu related, but with the latest set of pulse audio
