I have managed to move onto a stock Intrepid kernel from the kernel mentioned in this report.

I still have the GRUB menu entry and it broadly works, so I could pursue this report if necessary.

However, given that AFAICT the stock ubuntu 8.10 kernel is working as well as the custom kernels is this the best use of our time?

And it's one of the intermittent hesienbugs, so both reporting (and fixing) are likely going to take quite some time...

I'll leave the choice up to you
