@Richard Chappen: I'll throw packages which contain both text and tiles versions to my PPA later when I test it properly.

Hey Andy,

You can install it from my PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~kklimonda/+archive/ppa - some testing would be
nice. Make sure that file "wininit.txt" doesn't show up anywhere but
in ~/.config/crawl/ - I have had to patch a game because by default it
was creating wininit.txt in current directory. I need to know if
everything works.

I have send changes to the Maintainer but I don't know if he accept
them as I've basically rewritten whole package. I hope we can reach
consensus but I got no answer so far. :)

Best Regards,
Krzysztof Klimonda

hi Krzysztof,
great job! I just installed crawl-x11 from your repository. It works
great and I didn't notice any files created in my current directory when I
ran the program.
I'll try it on a couple more PCs in the next couple days & let you know
if I find any problems.
I didn't notice an icon on the application menu. Is there any chance you
could have your package create an icon on the Application->Games menu in
gnome?

thanks,
Andy

It shouldn't happen but It's nice to have more people test it.

Sure, It would be great.

Hmm.. I was thinking about it the other way but I couldn't look for an
icon then. Now I have found an icon I could use but I don't what
license does it have. I'll have to mail developers about it - if it
has a "normal" license I'll prepare a new package soon, if not i'll
probably do it anyway but it won't make it to Debian/Ubuntu later.
Thanks for reminding me about it.

Hey,
All of you who has installed crawl package from my PPA please remove
it. I have made a
mistake in package version so it won't be upgraded automatically to
newer version which
contains .desktop file. I have removed package from PPA already to
build a new one.
