Yes, this bug is confirmed, the original work I did to convert tint to tint2 in Debian has revealed itself to be insufficient. Upstream has already been informed about the name conflict and voluntarily agreed to change the name; I have just asked them if they are about to push a new upstream version. If they do push a new version, then I will just upload that. Otherwise, I will push a manual fix.

I just talked to upstream; they are planning for a new release of tint2 with the name change during the period February 15 to February 28. If there are no objections, I will rebuild the Debian package at that point and then file a sync request.

Upstream is integrating a systray in tint2 0.7.0, so there will be a bit of a delay on the new release.

This bug was fixed in the package tint2 - 0.7.1-1

---------------
tint2 (0.7.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New Upstream Version
  * debian/watch: add uversionmangle line to ignore upstream's beta
    releases.
  * debian/control: Update to Debian Policy 3.8.3, fix description typo.

tint2 (0.7-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New Upstream Version. (LP: #319436)
    - Update watch file to point to tint2 instead of tint.
    - Remove debian/tint.1: integrated upstream (Closes: #532307)
    - Remove dpatch and patches/01-remove-strip-from-makefile.dpatch:
      integrated upstream.
    - Refresh debian/examples and remove debian/docs
    - tint2 is now licensed under the GPL-2.
  * Added Vcs-Git and Vcs-Browser fields to debian/control.
  * Updated to Standards Version 3.8.2
  * Switched to tiny dh 7 rules file with overrides.
