There should be a way to pause upgrade manager

Bug Description

The download manager for updates is extremely slow considering this region doesn't have high speed internet available. Is there a way to make upgrades more like wget, where I can pause it in between times that I need my internet for something else like a skype call or etc.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs. You might also find some help in the Community help forums: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/webforums. You are also invited to post your idea in Ubuntu Brainstorm at https://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/ where it can be discussed, voted by the community and reviewed by developers.

This is not a question, because there is not way to pause upgrades. The original reporter should have just say it instead of asking it as a question.

If there is no way to pause upgrades then how come you can pause during wget processes?

Since what you submitted is not really a bug, or a problem,
but rather an idea to improve Ubuntu, I would suggest to post your idea in Ubuntu Brainstorm at https://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/ where it can be discussed, voted by the community and reviewed by developers.

I also would suggest to close this bug.

greetings

Martin

I was wondering, why Bug #155248 was marked as a duplicate of this bug, even though it was reported before this one?

I don't really mind, but I'm curious.
