File roller only extracts files if they have the correct extension, despite mimetype.

Bug Description

The file vase.blend1 is shown as a package/archive which indicates that it is compressed, and it was. I attempted to extract it to its full size and I was given the error
"
Une erreur s'est produite lors de l'extraction des fichiers.

(null)
"
by file roller. After changing the name to vase.blend1.gz the file is properly extracted by file roller.

Nautilus 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1
Blender 2.48.2
Ubuntu 8.10

The representations were correct in nautilus, the backup was compressed. The actual problem was that file roller did not accept the input of the file without the file extension gz, even though it had the correct (sorry) mimetype.

Blender doesn't set the right "magic" bytes at the beginning of an compressed backup (I think). The freedesktop spec for MIME <http://standards.freedesktop.org/shared-mime-info-spec/shared-mime-info-spec-0.11.html> indicates that more specialised files should have higher priority (Unified system:The source XML files). It's read as a less specific gzip though.

By example, do you mean a screenshot?
