Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rhythmbox music player skips about every minute. On every song whether low or high bit rate. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10. But I do not know what version of Rhythmbox I'm using. Sorry i can't find that out, I am new to Linux and to Ubuntu.

I also am finding the same problem with Rhythmbox Music Player. I have noticed it chiefly when playing CDs. There is also the same problem with the Totem Movie Player, but not quite as bad as Rhythmbox.

One note. My DVD/CD player is an internal old style IDEE device. The rest of my computer runs on the new style bus.

I had the same problem with Rhythmbox skipping. I was using an IDE DVD drive. I had problems only playing CDs, not playing mp3. When I hooked up an external SATA DVD drive through a USB port, I had no problems with Rhythmbox at all.
