mail disappears

Binary package hint: thunderbird

While receiving mail, I noticed an email from an organization I follow, but after all mail was downloaded it was not in any mailbox. There should be a confirmation message before automatically deleting mail that has not been listed.

I guess your message was just marked as Junk, not deleted. Please check your Junk folder. It should be there.

No, it disappears. Junk folder has delete when read set. There is no way to retrieve mail that disappears. If SHOULD migrate to Trash, not vanish.

Does it still appear in Thunderbird 3 on Ubuntu 10.04?

Re 10.04, I have no idea. I have Jaunty. This is a stable, working computer, so I prefer not to update it at the moment.
