Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Going to 'Help' > 'Report a Bug...' in OpenOffice.org does not do anything! Isn't the expected behavior to open bugs.launchpad.net in a browser window/tab?

Ubuntu Intrepid
OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 [OOO300m14 Build: 9376]

I can't confirm this issue on Interpid. It works just fine.

I started Impress from a terminal and this is the error that is shown in the terminal when I click 'Report a Bug...'

sh: /usr/lib/openoffice/program/ooo87965.execute.sh: not found

I guess I do not have that ooo87965.execute.sh file. Adam and Tom, do you guys have that file?

Yes, I do. Openoffice 3 is not part of Ubuntu yet. How did you install it?

I installed using the PPA that was present in Launchpad.

The path of the actual file changed with 3.0 but the command to execute it did not.

/usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.0/program/ooo87965.execute.sh

I'm not sure about why this would show up under 2.4.1 though for Tom.

Thanks for catching this bug. :-)

Chris

I found that file on my computer now. I made a link to that file in /usr/lib/openoffice/program/ folder. Now, when I click on 'Report a Bug...' a small box pops up saying that it is collecting information that might be of use to the developers and eventually opens a new tab in firefox. But the problem now is the link that is supposed to open in the browser seems to be broken! Please take a look at the attached screenshot.

Kayvee,

That is a bug in the launchpad-integration package and probably should be filed there. You can easily reproduce this issue by simply running the following command in a terminal window:

launchpad-integration -b -P openoffice.org

Actually I found out that the second bug is a bug in launchpad itself if you wait about 5-10 seconds then hit refresh it will find the information about the bug...
