Bug Description

Hy, it will by very nice option if nautilius have some plugin with more options to copy/move files.
Now nautiulius can copy to ftp , and many other locations but now is very unhapy tool, example if i copy file to ftp and server close connection or my network have error - i lost copy proces... - why ? i think they will by great option if i have button copy manager and see unsuccesfull transfers, where i can stop, pause, retry.. copy (limit transfer speed...).
in this place we can see copy history. - like in firefox we have window with copy history (if we add plugin) we can restart transfer, pause it, stop add new is many possibles in this place.

I think it will by great function.

sory for my english, i have hope to somebody understand this idea...

Thank you for taking the time to make Ubuntu better. Before we can begin work on this bug, could you please provide us with the version of Ubuntu you are running, as well as the Nautilus version? To get your Ubuntu version, click the System menu and choose About Ubuntu. Your version will be under the Ubuntu logo. To get your Nautilus version, open a Nautilus window (for example, your Home folder) and from the Help menu choose About. Thanks in advance.

grek,

I have reported this to the GNOME bug tracker. You can view that report by clicking the link in the "Remote bug watches" section on the right side of this bug. If you believe that I have missed something that you had requested, please don't hesitate to comment on the upstream bug report and here as well. Hm, i think pause is not enough,

- pause yes but what when people copy files to remote location (or
local network) sometimes have problem so :

- retry transfer
- finished transfer list maybe as independent plug in (copy manager or
something to don't add too many buttons (if somebody don't like it) in
main transfer window) with option run , pause, stop,

- limit speed

thanks

Implementation detail of pausing; it's not ever going to work consistently every time, so the facility will exist to automatically retry failed operations. Same with resuming, queuing transfers (like 323392).

> - finished transfer list
Different bug, but I'm not sure it's tracked on launchpad. We do have it upstream though, and there's interesting work being done around it (Federico's Nautilus Journal concept, for example).

> - limit speed
Really a detail of implementing pause/resume, since pause is simply a rate limit of zero.
